The ivory haired woman continued to struggle against the might of the men who were tying her to the cross. The tears stung her redden eyes as she looks to the young lady, she pursed her lips as she pulls her wrists forward trying to break free. The men glanced to one another as they looked towards the lady of the Cronqvist house; to have a noble of high standing come to the aid of a heretic was hard to work with. They had received orders from the church and she already received sentencing from a judge. "Milady; this woman has already been denounced by the church. She is a witch and has to perish if her soul wants salvation." One man said to Elisabetha as Miriam now to stood at her lady's side. She did not like the situation one bit; but she knew Elisabetha was determined to save this innocent woman. She noted another figure making swift movements to the pair. It was Bruno. A fellow knight and an ally of Mathias's. Bruno forced his way to Elisabetha's side before drawing his sword to the other man's neck. "You will do what Lady Cronqvist's ask." He growls pressing his sword on the man's flesh. The crowd began to murmur and whisper among themselves. However the head priest approached the trio with his hand on his bible. "Milady, I know your heart moves with compassion. But this woman is a witch; please understand we do this for the lord."
-----

Seraph only grins bemused by the man's actions; oh how humorous mortals could be. He with a swift spiral kick sent Leon's sword flying into the tall grass; with that inhuman speed he was now inches away from Leon's face as he grabbed the blonde by his locks forcing him down to the ground. "The only heretics I see are you silly mortals." he muses baring his face as he leans it to lick Leon's ear.

Aleksander gulped slightly before walking over to his lord, “..... My apologies, My lord. I was… hoping.. To have completed more of my research before I presented it to you. It’s not quite complete yet… But… I was hoping for this elixir to be the ultimate cure-all. Initially, I had assumed it for the knights going off to the wars. But I realized recently, that perhaps more than just warriors could benefit from such a potion.” he said, glancing down to the ground. Even though his lord seemed to have no manner of upset in his voice, he still feared saying anything that might set his Lord off. Like how Miriam, the woman who was now in service to protect Lord Cronqvist’s benevolent and compassionate wife, had volunteered to test the elixir. One of the last thing Aleksander wanted was to allow harm to come to his secret lover, or even slip that they were seeing each other almost intimately without anyone’s consent.

-------------------------

Elisabetha frowned. Of course they would go to such extremes already. She desperately wished to save this poor woman, as she felt there was something special about her, but she was running out of ideas quickly. If Bruno didn’t appear when he did, she was sure men in the forming crowd would have escorted her and Miriam away from the scene. She couldn’t let up now, though. Hopefully with just a short bit more of pushing, she can help free this woman. “Please, sir, let me see to this woman. If she does any crime against my house or land, I will personally allow her condemnation. But until then, alw me to take her into my custody.” she says, her voice much gentler than before.

-----------------------

Leon gasped out quickly and in a bit of pain as he hit the ground, both his abdomen and his head hurting now. He needed to find some way out of this. This did end up being a bit more over his head than he had previously anticipated. It was clear to him now, that this man, no, this thing was far from human. And Leon’s heart instinctively started racing at the sound of his words. This THING was a monster. But he knew he had to find a way out of this, and back to his beloved Sara. That was all that filled his mind. Sara’s beautiful smile and her innocent laugh. He needed to make it back to her. He just couldn’t figure out how. “In nomine Jesu, immundus spiritus abi! he chants repeatedly, the prayer to repel evil, struggling to reach for his cross. The Lord’s power would serve to protect him, until he could figure out some way to free himself.

The priest stood where he was his hand firmly resting on the bible as he listened to the words spoken to him; by the young lady of the Cronqvist abode. She was adamant about saving this damned woman; he strokes his beard for a moment truly contemplating her words. Bruno and Miriam exchange a brief look with concern etching to their features they were running out of time here; the crowd was becoming awry and full of impatience. They were starting to cheer "Burn Her" and other horrible things like that. The young woman closes her eyes and she took began to pray as fear began to wash over her; she now had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach that she was not getting out of this. But by a miracle's chance the priest releases a heavy sigh clearly wearing defeat on his features; he looks to Elisabetha with seriousness on his features. "I pray for your soul Lady Cronqvist. You can take her into custody; but know this. You cannot save every witch who screams innocence. It will become unbecoming of you and will lead you to damnation." He hisses out to her practically spitting at the words at her feet as he motions for the men to cut the other down; she falls into Bruno's strong hold as Miriam moved swiftly to Elisabetha's side. She looks to her lady with worry furrowed into her brows.

"You've done it milady. But we must return home swiftly now; before the crowd turns on us any further." she advises to the young blonde looking over to Bruno with a quick glance; he nodded as he scooped up the maiden into his arms. She was weeping into his hold as he began to push through the crowd following after Miriam as she guided the way back towards the estate. There were looks and murmurs as they pushed through the crowd; it made Miriam feel uneasy and guarded. Yet it was not long until Miriam had reached the carriage which she ushered Elisabetha in along with the ivory haired woman; Bruno climbed onto one of the horse flicking the reins he began to lead the way home.

The ivory haired female leaned back onto the cushioned seating of the carriage; she released a sigh of relief before looking to Elisabetha. She offered the young lady a sweet smile as she brushes back her locks over her hair. "Thank you so much for saving my life. I owe it all to you milady." She exhales softly nodding her thanks to her; she was indebted to her now. She was determined to repay her debt one way or another to the young noblewoman. "My name is Lenora; how can I ever repay you?"

-----

The silver haired vampire released a hiss before practically gliding off of Leon; his magenta hues narrowing at the knight with mild disgust and growing hatred in his form; he bared his fangs at Leon for a moment. "You think you can just say a pray and you'll be alright? Oh no~ Mark my words mortal; you will know pain. Even if it not me causing it." he snarls as he backs away for a moment; he chose to retreat for now leaving for now. He returned to his brethren side as he shot a glare back towards Leon once more. "Come let's go. Aaron is right i'm afraid."
--------

The young brunette had become even more wary when she heard the crowd; not wanting to bear witness to the execution of someone innocent or not she chose to take a short cut through one of the passes in between buildings. Her hood was no longer shielding her face as she made it to the clearing; she began descending down the pass when she felt something take hold of her. She releases a cry as she was shoved up against the wall of a building; she winced feeling the pain race up her spine. Her cerulean gems fluttered back open to take in the man from the tavern; he glares down at her for a moment before a sickening grin comes to his lips. "You owe me some of your time sweet miss." He purrs out to her; the color flooded from her cheeks as she grew pale. "Make sure no one intervenes!" he snarls a harsh command to four others who were now approaching to take watch and guard. Sara's heart drop as tears stung her the corners of her eyes. 'L-Leon!'she thought of her beloved as the man snatches her tiny wrists into his huge pale pinning them above her head.

"N-No. Please! Let me go!" she cries as he leaned in and began to nip and suckle on the nape of her neck. He inhale her locks a he began to fondle her with his free hand; he wedged his knee between her legs. Her heart was pounding against her chest as she began to cry out for help; it was then he threatened her life if she did not remain quiet. Sara; could not believe this was happening to her. She wanted Leon! She wanted him to rescue her and then hold her in his arms. The tears began to trickle down her cheeks as he tugged on her dress; her sleeve sliding off her shoulder as he hungrily pressed his mouth to her flesh. What on earth could she have done to deserve this? Had she upset her god in some way? She was praying now for a miracle; she did not want to be 'dirty' before Leon made her.... By the god; if this continued any further she would be unweddable. The whimpers and pleas fell on death ears as his hand began to trace her curved figures. 'L-Leon.... Forgive me.... Please.... I am so sorry. I do not have the strength against him..... I love you, I love you more than anything. Please forgive me. Please.'

Aleksander twisted his gaze to the side, “About the live subject… I have found someone who volunteered themselves to act as a test subject. Perhaps it’s for the best at this point if the… uhh.. Person in question remains without their name disclosed…” he trails off. He was equally pleased and terrified. His heart swelled with exhilaration, knowing that his master was pleased with his research. However, dread filled his abdomen, thinking further, If Lord Cronqvist knew just WHO the test subject was, he would most certainly be furious with the budding alchemist.

-----------------------

Elisabetha sighed a heavy breath of relief. She had managed to save this innocent woman. But the Priest’s words and the bitterness of his tone filled her body with fear. She had done what she knew deep down in her core to be the right thing to do. Fear and worry were emotions that would have to wait for a later time.

Elisabetha smiled gently at the white haired woman, “Lady Lenora, I only ask that you do what is asked of you in my house. We have many servants already and my husband is quite a busy man, so when he is working, it is best to leave him to his own devices. Until we find a proper fit for you, I suppose you can serve as a handmaiden of mine.” she says gently, sparing a quick glance to the dispersing crowd. Men seemed to be fueled by cruelty and distrust. As much as she believed the best of people, moments like these where people were led by superstitious ignorance terrified her down to her core.

She was so glad to have spared this woman the flame’s final judgement.

-----------------------

Leon shivered slightly, the pain in his body still throbbing in pain, The vampire’s fangs and words etched into his mind. This demon would end up escaping without divine punishment because Leon was not quite strong enough to defeat him. He could do nothing.

---
Aaron and Cezarian nodded at their silver haired companion, the younger moving close to the returning elder. Cezarian glanced back at the young Baron and smirked slightly, his fang showing. He was sure they would cross his blood again. Perhaps one with a stunning beauty on his arm. The brunette elder would surely look forward to such a day.

Miriam ran fingers through her long blonde tassels; uneasiness settled in her stomach as Bruno looks to her for a moment. "Everything will by fine Miriam. The Lady is safe." He replies softly as he studies her with his hazel hues; her emeralds twisted back to him and she spoke her mind. "The lady could have been hurt severely! It's my duty to protect her and to keep her from harm or trouble!" she states, he looked to the path ahead nodding in silent agreement. "Yes; I know. But, Lady Elisabetha follows her heart. We would not have been able to dissuade her either way; her husband's stubbornness has rubbed off on her. But we should count our blessings; that they listened to her. They could have easily turned on her and try to burn her alongside the other. Call her a witch coming to the defense of kin. But they did not; they chose to listen and comply. So I feel this was a success." He says softly; Miriam frowned but saw his point clearly.

Lenora listened to Elisabetha's words nodding gently to them with a small smile coming to her lips. "I understand, once again I thank you. What you did was brave and I appreciate it so much." She whispers tucking back her ivory locks behind her shoulders. "I must inquire. Why did you choose to aid me; you could have turn a blind eye to me."
----

Seraph led the two further away from Leon as he fumed in anger; he wanted to ruin the man. To violate him, steal his pride and faith into his worthless god. But he knew it would be unwise as he turns to Aaron for a moment. "What else did you see about that man?" He demands softly now they were a good distance away.

----

Sara collapsed to her knees when the other was ripped off of her; she trembled slightly desperate to catch her breath. She closes her eyes for a moment as she could hear what was occurring only a few feet away. The man snarls as he began to rise to his feet; his eyes wild with anger and hunger. Lust. "You bloody bastard. How dare you interrupt me." He snarls drawing a dagger on Walter; he wasn't about to give up without a fight. He lunged for the red haired man.

Aleksander frowned. Lord Cronqvist was right. If anything went wrong, or perhaps even if things were going oo well, Aleksander would risk losing Miriam. It put her in danger as he studied and experimented. His face seemed to almost pale as he bit down on his lower lip slightly. He wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he lost her, due to her helping him with HIS work. His master was right. Perhaps he could use condemned criminals instead of his beloved Miriam. His hands shook slightly as he pulled his palms into fists as emotion started to well in his eyes.

He nodded at his Lord’s question, “I have told her-THEM how dangerous it will be if I messed up. I very much appreciate your worry and advice, My Lord. And Yes, sir, I do know the dangers of these things. Hopefully those concerns will not come to fruition.” he knew he ranted slightly and even slipped slightly. He knew his lord would pick up on it. Lord Cronqvist was the most intelligent and sophisticated man he had ever had the pleasure of meeting, especially since this man was now his tutor.. His mentor.. And much more of a “father” figure than he had ever had growing up. He would do anything in his power to impress the lord who took him in. No matter what was needed, his loyalty and skills would be devoted to him only.

--------

Elisabetha smiled at the woman’s question gently. She brought her hand up to cover her mouth as a slight chuckle almost escaped it. It was brave, she knew, and incredibly reckless. She could have caused Miriam harm or risked harm to come to herself. She made a silent oath to ensure, no matter her heart’s desire, to not interfere with the religion-fueled discrimination in the country. She would leave those things to her beloved husband and Baron Leon Belmont. They knew much better than she. She wasn’t even sure how to explain the extra hand to her husband. She supposed she would come up with what to say when explaining it to her gentle husband.

“Oh my dear lady, I am quite sure I will cause my dearest friends graying hair before their time. I knew deep in my heart that I had to help you. I suppose you could call it a call from God for me to grant you your salvation. I knew you deep down that you would serve my family well, and would be an asset to the world.” she said, her smile warm and soft. She was positive the woman was innocent of sin and that the Lady Cronqvist was not bringing a criminal into her home.

--------

Aaron frowned deeply, “You know my visions are hazy at best. The scent of that man’s blood will live for several centuries, and with their Holy Whip, they will be at the root of many Vampire deaths.” He explained with a frown, “He will be the forefather of generations of incredibly talented Vampire Hunters, their name and skills renowned as the Elite of their trade…. Though that man had no whip, only a sword. I don’t know when they will begin using the whip, but when they do, danger will befall us.”

Cezarian shuddered slightly, looking at the “newly turned” vampire. They would have to be careful and lay low. They would probably last longer if they avoided public knowledge and stayed away from whip-wielding hunters. They would have to depend further on stalking their mortal prey more than they had previously. Cezarian sighed, with a quick shake of his head. His favorite pastime of bedding his prey before feeding from them might have to be ceased. A shame for him and the beautiful women that would serve as his temporary bed-mates, but he was sure he would find a way to survive without the charmed intimacy.

The blonde leaned back into the seat of the carriage as she could see the estate in the distance; her emerald hues wavered slightly with nervousness. What will happen when they brought Lady Cronqvist home to her husband; how was he going to react to her brash behavior. Will he punish Elisabetha? Punish Miriam too? She wasn't sure but the thought nerved her; Lord Cronqvist's temper was something to be feared.

Lenora only tosses the young female a smile as she looks over to the young lady. "They weren't entirely wrong my dear. I do possess unique 'gifts'" She mused out to the young blonde as her hand comes to her cheek. She studies the young lady for a long moment. "I will serve you. And your house."
-----

Seraph released an enraged hiss whilst his companions suggested laying low and hiding from this man and his kin. Seraph's ruby hues glowed. "No, we must kill him and his kin before they grow too powerful." He snarls his knuckles whitening beneath his ebony gloves as he walked alongside the other two.

----

The drunkard released an agonizing scream as his arm was snapped by the other; he fell to the knees and gasped for air as he clutched his broken member. "Y-You bastard. You will pay for this! I assure you!" He snarled pulling himself to his feet and turned on his heels before fleeing away from the crimson haired male leaving him to the brunette noblewoman.

Sara's eyes fluttered open once more as she came to her senses a bit more; she glances over to take in Walter's form. Relief washes over her. She began to pull herself to her feet as she stumbles slightly forward. She caught herself as he turns to look upon him; she offered him that angelic smile that Leon adored so much. "Thank you so much...." She exhales to him feeling the wave of gratitude wash over her. He had rescued her. Leon would be grateful. She was still pure for him now. She owed all that to Walter. She folds her hands together forward as she felt shyness flood her. Should she ask him to escort her home?

Aleksander frowned deeper and felt his feet move back slightly. His lord would not tolerate the young man lying to him. He cursed himself silently for the slip and sighed deeply. He knew it would be of no use to try and change the topic now. “... Miriam volunteered to be my assistant.” he said quietly.

------------
Elisabetha smiled gently, “I’m glad you feel that way, my dear. It will make things much easier, I ensure you. But I am curious… What do you mean by ‘gifts’?” she asks tilting her head slightly. They were almost home, and perhaps she should have spent more time figuring out how to explain the going-ons of the day, but she assumed that she would have to come up with that once she met with her beloved husband.

With the arrival of the carriage Miriam climbed out of the front seating with Bruno hopping down; he allowed a servant to take the reigns of the horses as he approached the carriage door. Opening it he extends his gloved hand to Elisabetha to take; he looked to Lenora who followed Elisabetha as she climbed out and took to her side. "We can discuss it at a different time my lady." She replies with a small smile coming to her lips; Bruno wore a stern face as he looked over to Lenora still unsure of the situation. He felt like he needed to be guarded; and with that he began to escort the ladies inside of the estate leading them to the sitting area. He commanded a servant to gather up refreshments for the two women. He turns to Miriam giving her a nod to go find Lord Cronqvist and inform him of the situation.

Miriam began her search for her Lord practically gliding across the floors with her swiftness. Her eyes twist around for a moment as she approached the staircase the descends into the alchemist lab. She could hear the faint sound of voices from below; she descends the stairs quickly coming to its base. She takes in both Lord and secret lover; straightening her posture she clears her throat. "Lord Mathias; we've returned." She says to the lord; her eyes drank in Aleksander as she began to drink in the scenery of the two. It seemed whatever they were discussing was of some importance.

------

Sara nervously scratched at her left cheek at the lord's inquisition; her cheeks flushed with mild embarrassment. How could she speak the truth? Inform another that her father had sent to the tavern to meet with a cloaked man and that's where it all unfolded? Surely not. "Well my father sent me here on a private matter. And that man harassed me then too. I was on my way home when they grabbed me." she says to him brushing back her locks behind her ear. Her smile remained sweet as she spoke to him further. "But I am safe now thanks to you Lord Bernhard; how can I ever repay you for what you have done today?"[/color]

Elisabetha smiled at Bruno as she thanked him gently. She then glanced back at Lenora and motioned for the witch to sit on one of the chairs. "Now tell me a bit about yourself, my dear. I'd like to know you a bit better before I explain your attendance to my husband." she says sweetly and folding her hands daintily on her lap.

--------

Aleksander looked over at Miriam and frowned. He knew that it was a bad idea to indulge Miriam in his research. Now he had upset his master and had upset himself. How could he have agreed to allow his secret lover to force herself into his work in such a way? What would he have done if his research escalated to a point where it would risk causing harm to her? He would never forgive himself and knew Lord Cronqvist wouldn't have either. But that was done now. Miriam would be removed as his Volunteer and test subject. And he would have to find a different means of testing it.

Lenora only smiled lightly at Elisabetha's words before shaking her head; she waved her hand at the lady's words. "No need milady; I can explain myself to your husband. I am sure he'll be upset upon learning what has occurred. As for a bit about me, all you need to know is my past was not a pleasant one but I am a woman with a good heart." She says for a brief moment tucking back her locks behind her ears. She could sense it though; something was changing within the young lady of the house. "But milady; I do hope we can become good friends~"

~
Miriam frowns upon hearing her lord's words; she had been taken back by it all initially. A frown purses to her lips as she held her ground; she did not agree with his decision and being the stubborn woman she was she would make that known. "My Lord. I am far from a foolish woman, I know the risks of participating in this experiment. But Aleksander is onto something here. He can path a way to a new future. A future I want to see for this world. I appreciate your concern. But I refuse your order. I did not come down here to be scolded." she says to him her brows knitting together as she clears her throat. She knew refusing his commands could be costly; and she could very well be punished for it. But she was not about to let Aleksander's work slip through his fingers because his lord was far too cautious.

"My lord, there is something you must know. The trip to the village was disastrous. I am surprised we weren't harmed. Your wife Lady Elisabetha interfered in the trial and execution of a witch. Used her title along as yours to get the woman's life to be spared. The church reluctantly complied. Bruno and I both were present and I speak firmly when I say I feared that the town could have turn on us if it weren't for her high standing. And you being her husband." she said speaking firmly as her eyes twist over to Aleksander. A hint of worry flickered as she wanted to speak to him in privately later this evening. Behind closed doors where it was just them; away from the world. The entire situation got her hairs on end and she wanted him to console her. Especially since it was her duty to protect Lady Elisabetha.

~

Sara offers Walter yet another sweet smile as she nods to his words taking hold of his arm as he prepared to escort her home. His words about her father made her feel mildly sad on the fact; but she knew her father meant well. "It was a very private yet important matter. One that he could only entrust to me. I understand what he asked of me. But it's alright. If I have you looking over me when Leon is away I need not fear." she says looking up to the young man as he began to lead her away towards her own home. "Lord Walter, are you enjoying your stay here?"

Elisabetha frowned slightly. It wasn’t the response she was hoping for, but she understood the woman’s hesitations. Though she hoped Lenora would have been more open with her. Elisabetha did save the young woman, and a friendship must be forged on trust.

----
Aleksander looked over Miriam. She knew what Lord Cronqvist decreed was final, and yet she argued with him. His eyes widened when Miriam mentioned of the issue in town, It was well unlike Lady Elisabetha for such erratic behavior. He gave a quick nod to Miriam in recognition of her glance. They might have to continue even the experiments in secret, if she was so insistent. But perhaps it was best if Aleksander did cease his research. The last thing he needed was risking Lord Cronqvist to cease mentoring him for disobedience.

Lenora looks over to Elisabetha offering her a warmer smile; she took Elisabetha's hands into her own thumbing them gently. "Milady, I do not want you to get in much trouble for me. I assure you all will be well. But I will reveal one thing about me. I am from Scandia." She says softly to her revealing a bit about her past to the girl trying to ease her concerns.

~

Miriam nearly hissed at Mathias' scolding as she averts her gaze from him glaring upon the floor as she would toss something down and break it. How dare he. She was more than his wife's personal guard. While it was an honor to serve her. Miriam felt like she wasn't being put to her full potential. She wanted to aid Aleksander in his work. She looks up to him once more sighing heavily. "She and the witch await you in the sitting area." She sighs trying to initiate her master to ascend the stairs to speak to his wife about the situation. It spooked the knight having been in the situation. The last time she herself had seen a witch burned; she was nine years of age. It had been a frightening experience.

Once her master departed from the lab to speak with the witch and his wife Miriam turned to Aleksdaner; she raced over to him embracing the male into a tight hug. "Aleksander, i was frightened. And not for my life. But for Lady Elisabetha's. It could have turned into such an ugly situation. What if i couldn't protect her? What if she had died on my watch?" She breathes out speaking her heart to the alchemist as tears began to sting her eyes. The biggest the Miriam feared was failing; failing to protect those she cared for.

--------

Sara's cheeks flushed at his words as she felt a wave of naivety wash over her; she released a gentle melodious laugh. "Ah, yes. I know, if I could I would ask my father to allow me to become knowledgeable in ways of defense. But alas; he feels that I am a flower in need of protection. He's loved me and raised me well. But, he wants me to remain innocent and demur. Like my mother was." she exhales thinking about it now. She recalled the one time she had tried to pick up the sword; she wanted to become stronger to be more useful to her father. He had got into a fit; begged her to never pick up a blade again. He protect her and she needed to saddle herself with silly things like learning the sword.

Sara listened a bit more to the rest of his words as she smiled at the thought of traveling. She always wanted to travel and see the world. See all that it had to offer her. Another dream that would be out of reach. Her father wanted only one thing of her. To marry well, to be loved and most of all to be happy. All three she was doing. She was exceeding his expectations. "I am glad to hear this. Is Germany beautiful? I would love to travel but sadly that's a dream and nothing more."

Elisabetha frowned. She wasn’t very satisfied with the response, but she knew it was worthless to try and argue further. She glanced over to the doorway, and as always when she saw her husband, Her heart skipped a beat, until she saw his eyes. He was upset. She was sure Miriam told Mathias of the events of the day. It must have scared her poor husband. And she knew she did terrible things today.

------

Aleksander held Miriam close to him and frowned, placing his lips gently on her hair. He loved her. He gently pulled her back just far enough to wipe the tears from her eyes and brush her hair aside so he could look into her eyes unobstructed. “Miriam… You will do everything alright. I’m sure both Lady Cronqvist and you learned an important lesson. She mustn’t act in a way beyond her place. For her own safety… and..” he says, bringing his face closer to hers, as he runs his thumb gently over her cheek. Inches from her lips, he keeps her cheeks in his palms. His head tilts slightly to the left and hovers his lips just over hers. “and for your own safety…” he mutters, before pressing his lips gently to hers. He pulls his hands from her cheeks and rests his arms around her again.

Miriam gently places her head to Aleksander's forehead; a weakened smile remained on her features as she was embraced by him. The blonde's arms remained twined around his figure with a small smile coming to her lips. He made her feel at ease in times of darkness or self doubt. She lifts her hand gently to thumb cheek. "Aleksander. I do not want your research to end. Even it means we have to remain in secret. I truly feel like you can uncover a lot with it." She whispers to him offering him a smile. She wanted to help him; she wanted to see his work come into fruition. She was certain she could help with his serum. "Aleksander. I love you...."

------

Lenora frowns hearing the lord speak to his wife and she lowers her gaze for a moment. "I apologize Lord Cronqvist. It is my fault. I begged for your wife to save mine. I know that if she sensed that if she saved me. My descendants would come to serve her family in the centuries to come." She says coming forth revealing to him. "A descendant by the name of Lyudmil. He will come to serve you and your wife's family. I begged her; please do not take your wrath out on her. I have agreed to serve your family in exchange for what she's done."

-----

Sara's eyes grew wide hearing his offer as she turns to face him fully. "Really? You would really invite me to your home? Your castle! Oh how I would love to visit; to travel." She exhales to him her smile growing. This would be lovely; she and Leon perhaps they could come to Lord Bernhard's home. See Germany together, would Leon oppose the idea of them traveling? Perhaps their first year of marriage they could travel. Or would he want to settle down immediately and focus on.... Family....

Sara lifts her gaze to meet Walter's alluring red gems; she was enjoying his company as he led her closer to her home. "Lord Bernhard, would you be opposed to the idea of us spending time together tomorrow? Perhaps we can go for another walk?" she inquires; with Leon being gone and Elisabetha busy with Lord Cronqvist. Sara realized now just how lonely she was. She would enjoy some company.

Elisabetha gently put her hand on Mathias’ resting their hands on her shoulder together. She looks over to Lenora with a frown before stroking her thumb gently over his thumb, “I’m sorry for causing you so much stress and worry, my love. I will be much more careful from now on.” she says gently

Aleksander smiled gently, “I love you too, Miriam… But Lord Cronqvist ordered that you take no part in this as a test subject. I’m sorry, but I cannot allow it. He was right… I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if my serum caused you any harm…” he says, looking off to the side, a frown forming on his face

PostSubject: Re: CV: The Dark Crusades.    CV: The Dark Crusades. - Page 3 EmptyWed Mar 22, 2017 11:53 pm

The months and days pass as the Holy War rages on; whilst Leon Belmont is away his dearest friend Mathias has joined him into the fray. But just shortly before he had departed for his campaign he learned that he would be a father upon his return. This knowledge made the parting from his wife all the harder; but the two newly weds would write to one another during his time away. But he was put to ease knowing his beloved Elisabetha was in the care of mother and servants. Yet things were starting to take a worse for all.....

~

Scarlet gems held sorrow as they stared upon the orb that held her image within; her blonde tassels scattered about her face. Her cheeks so flushed; the fever running high cause both mother and unborn child great discomfort. The ebony haired man felt pain surface into his heart; he had not predicted a child when he foreshadowed her passing. Why, why could it not be prevented? He had warned her to be extra careful in the winter months; to be careful where she went what she did. Do everything in her power not to fall ill. Algrim slides his gloved fingers through his macabre hair locks gripping them gently. The tears struck his eyelids and the waterfall began to fall. What could he do? How could he ensure she did not pass? He knew there was nothing he could do. He just feared of the events that would come to occur once it was all said and done.

---

A cool compress was placed gently over Elisabetha's forehead as Vasilisa looked upon her daughter in law with a grim frown; she had commanded Aleksander to write a letter telling Mathias to return home immediately a few weeks ago. She did not like the condition Elisabetha was in and feared for both her life and the child's. It had started a month ago; Elisabetha had just hit her seventh sun and moon with the child. Elisabetha had returned home from a trip with Sara; she had began to feel unwell. A cough initially; but then it just worsened over the weeks. "Elisabetha; Mathias will be returning soon." She whispers stroking the woman's forehead brushing back her blonde locks. "Just, just hold out a little longer. Aleksander is working hard to find an elixir that will aid you. To heal you of this ailment." She says softly to her daughter in law. She had never had any other children except Mathias; but Elisabetha had quickly filled the spot where a daughter would have been in Vasilisa's heart.

---

Miriam paced back and forth in Aleksander's lab her eyes twisting over his shoulder ever so often; she was growing increasingly worried for her lady's sake. "Aleksander. Please, please tell me you have found something! Something that can save them!" She gasps out her hands slamming slightly onto the edge of the table. There was panic in her voice. Elisabetha. Elisabetha had been become something so dear to Miriam that she couldn't even begin to try and describe the bond. She just had to ensure her lady's survival. She'd give her life it meant Lady Elisabetha would live in exchange.

---

A tired sigh escapes the young man's lips as he wipes away the sweat from his brow as he looks over to the knight; Leon was eager to be returning home on this day. "What is the first thing you're going to do Lord Belmont?" Feliks inquires curiously as he wipes his sword of the demon's blood. He had approached Leon shortly after the vampires had approached the knight. He had convinced the knight to join secret campaigns against the monsters that terrorized the lands. Leon was determined to get the church to change the focus from heretics to true monsters. His eyes swept over to where the ebony haired male was; reading over the letters he had received from his apprentice again. Worry had consumed the man upon learning his wife had taken a turn for the worse in health. "Lord Cronqvist?"

----

Cerulean gems stared at the finished coat with an array of emotions; polished fingers caressed the softness of the design in it. The crimson lining reminded her of flames; the passionate heart that was Leon Belmont. The man she adored so much but was betraying. Her brows knitted forward; ever since he left for the crusades things were starting to occur. Things that were causing her heart to weigh heavy with uncertainty. She had begun to pray to the lord for help and for any possible forgiveness. Her servants had begun to gossip; it made Sara feel uneasy now. They were claiming she was becoming the devil's bride. Or a monster was trying to lead her into damnation. Ever since she started sleepwalking. Her dreams were improper too. She had no one to confide in either about them. When she tried to confess her dreams to a nun in the church; she was rejected holy water tossed onto her. It made Sara want to sob uncontrollably.

First Leon had consumed her dreams in an inappropriate manner; made her heart flutter and swoon. But then after the second month or so they turned to that of Walter Bernhard. He had become a close friend to the young noblewoman; she enjoyed his company greatly helped ease her loneliness. But the fact she was dreaming about him in such a light; it worried her. She should not be dreaming of another who was not her beloved. She wanted Leon. She needed Leon. She wanted his embrace; his voice to caress her ears. His smiling face; his smile. That smile that belonged only to her. She needed all of that. She wiped away at the tears stinging the corners of her eyes; she feared for his safety. She did not think he'd be gone for so long. The door to her bedroom swung open as her father approaches her; he clears his throat offering his daughter a weak smile. "Sara.  May we talk?" he asks she nods weakly rising to her feet.

"I have noticed that you have well to be blunt. Caught the eye of Lord Bernhard." He mused to her; she felt her brows furrow together. "Pardon? Lord Bernhard has just become a dear friend to me. Nothing more father; I am Leon's betrothed." she replies a smile coming to her lips as she tucks back her dark chocolate locks. "Yes, well. Sara I want you to prepare yourself for the possibility of losing Baron Belmont to the Crusades. My daughter, I think it may be in our favor for us to consider Lord Bernhard as a possible suitor for her." He exhales to his daughter his smile growing ever more. Lord Bernhard to his understanding had much more to offer than the young knight did. He was higher standing for one; had more money too and was not at all off fighting heretics. He was able to be there for Sara. Sara's face grew pale hearing her father's words; while she knew very well she could not defy orders if given his words were like a knife cutting deep. Prepare herself for if Leon did not come back? Consider Lord Bernhard as a.... Suitor?!

Had she really caught Bernhard's attention like that. "F-Father. Leon.... He's my betrothed; and I want to marry him. I love him dearly. I know its rare to marry for love. But I love Leon more than you would ever know." She exhales to him as he approaches her before embracing her. "Oh Sara. My daughter, I know but I want you to have security. I want the best for you. And Lord Bernhard he's got more to offer. So please if something happens to Leon please consider him." He begs her; she felt guilt rise in her chest a small smile escapes her lips. "Yes father." She whispers reluctantly complying to her father's wish. She was not at all on boat with the idea. But she wanted not to think about that ever being a possibility. "Perfect! Lord Bernhard has decided to grace us with his presence. He is down in the foyer awaiting us." He exhales grabbing his daughter before leading her down. Her eyes were widened slightly. 'Leon. Please forgive me. I fear things might have gotten out of hand here. No I have control on what is happening. But please lord return my Leon to me soon!'

Brought to the foyer her father opens the door to where Walter was residing; despite her concerns and burdens plaguing her heart and mind. She offers the red haired male that warm sweet smile as she approaches him. She had not expected him to come visit personally. Had he spoken to her father about the possibility of taking her for a wife? Is that where the conversation had come from? Had she misled him? What should she do? What should she say? She was beginning to feel unsure and flustered. "Walter. It's good to see you today; welcome to my home. What do I owe the honor of your presence?"

Elisabetha smiled slightly. She couldn't make out most of what her dear mother-in-law was saying, but she was sure she heard Mathias's name mentioned. Her beloved husband would be home soon. Her head was foggy and her body felt weak. She had to be well enough by Mathias's return to welcome her dear one back from the campaign. She tried to force herself to start moving, to sit up and raise herself from the bed. In her attempts though, she let out a pained cry. Her body was sore and tired. Her chest felt like fire was raging rampant in her lungs. She was able to sit up, and she rejoiced slightly.... Until her body curled inward slightly and she started coughing and hacking into her hands violently, her hands cradling blood. She let out a quiet sob. She should have listened to that terrifying man's warning. She was going to die. Even worse however, was the fact that the child that had been growing inside her, a child formed of the incredible love between her and her husband, was falling ill due to her as well. She would pray. Pray to the Lord above. Beg for him to spare her child. To let Mathias have some part of her left, even if she didn't survive. The last thing she wanted was for the love of her life to be alone and so saddened by her mistakes and failures. She wanted Mathias to have a good and healthy life, to be happy and safe. She wanted that above all else. "M.. Ma...Mathias..." she whimpered out after another coughing fit, tears forming in her eyes. Her love, Her life. Just had to survive a little longer for him.
-----
Aleksander fumbled through concoctions and elixirs, all of these different things he’s already tried to cure Lady Cronqvist of her illness. Nothing he could figure out so far seemed to help the ailing woman and her unborn child. The lab was a mess. Papers and leftover used ingredients littered the tables and the floor. He scrambled with the potions and failed remedies, his hands shaking with fear and exhaustion. He hasn’t slept for the past two days, only sleeping before when he passed out at his work table. He would save Lady Cronqvist. For his Lord. This had become his magnum opus, his life’s greatest achievement. This would finally give him the courage to beg Lord Cronqvist for permission to marry Miriam. He heard Miriam’s panicked words in his ears. He could say nothing though to ease her fears though. Aleksander’s best efforts were still yielding negative results.
---
Leon smiled slightly at his comrade, His thoughts had been lost on Sara. His beloved, he had been away from her for far too long. When he returned home, he wanted nothing more than to take his beautiful betrothed into his arms and hold her close. Since Feliks had sought out Leon’s help with fighting these demons, He felt as if one part of his life seemed to click. He felt much more at ease fighting these monsters than he did slaughtering possibly innocent people. He could stand no more killing fellow humans, and these monsters Leon was impressively skilled against in battle.

”I want nothing more at this moment then to see my beloved Sara again… I’ve been from her side for far too long. I’m sure even Mathias can relate. We must hurry home faster than the wind..” He says, climbing onto the back of his horse,, pressing his heel gently to get the horse moving again.
